The Local Church

Infinite Riches

Words can't express what the Lord or the local church mean to me. There isn't a moment that passes without a verse or a line of a song popping into my head and keeping me out of trouble. He watches over me wherever I go; He loves me.

I've often wondered what it's like not being in the church or not having the Lord. I look at those who are in this situation and see broken families, trouble, depression. Seeing them makes me stop wondering what it would be like because I know. The Lord and the local churches have shielded me from this grief my entire life. The Christian brothers and sisters have been especially helpful; not only do they take care of me and help raise me, they are also my closest and best friends. When I look back on the last fifteen years and think of my best experiences, they have been shared almost exclusively with members of the local church. I have been kept from emptiness and suffering. The brothers and sisters have always been there for me and I know they always will be. All I am I owe to them and the Lord.

I just thought of a line out of a song, (Hymns #723) “For out of His infinite riches in Jesus, He giveth and giveth, and giveth again.” This is so true. I've lived my life lacking nothing that the Lord hasn't provided me with. He really does give, give, and give again.
